It did not say it was unplugged just because the tv was off. I previously had a 42 inch Sony Bravia as my monitor and it worked fine. When I do access it, it is in 640x480 resolution and like I said, no monitor is detected at all. I know that if I go home, I will turn the TV on and the computer will immediately detect the monitor, but I should be able to acces it through remote desktop properly. When I go into ATI Catalyst Control Center, there is no option there either. In thd device manager, there is not even a Monitor option. In the sound playback settings, I see the LG tv, but it says Not Plugged In. However, when I log into my computer using Google Chrome Remote Desktop, it does not detect that I even have a monitor at all. Regardless, I plug in my TV through the HDMI port, into the video card. The TV is a 240hz tv, but it appears that the 240hz is meaningless because the computer will only give a 60hz signal, Is that correct? Here is a link to the video card I bought:
